Athletics 8, Orioles 4

Josh Willingham hit his 20th homer and Coco Crisp had a two-run double as the Oakland Athletics broke a four-game losing streak with an 8-4 victory over the visiting Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday.

Guillermo Moscoso (6-6) gave up three runs (two earned) and five hits in six innings as the Athletics defeated the Orioles for the 13th time in the last 15 meetings in Oakland.

Cliff Pennington had three of Oakland’s 12 hits.

Oakland took a 3-0 lead in the second on Scott Sizemore’s double, Pennington’s bloop single over first base and Jemile Weeks’ bloop double down the right-field line.

Willingham’s homer in the third gave the Athletics a 4-1 lead.

Baltimore’s Vladimir Guerrero had a run-scoring double in the fourth and Josh Bell added a run-scoring single in the fifth to pull the Orioles within 4-3.

Oakland made it 7-3 in the seventh when Crisp doubled and scored on Hideki Matsui’s single. Kurt Suzuki hit a sacrifice fly in the eighth.

Orioles starter Brian Matusz (1-5) allowed six runs and eight hits in 6 2/3 innings in his first major-league outing since June 30.
