Braves 6, Nationals 5 (10)
Brian McCann's run-scoring single in the 10th inning gave the Atlanta Braves a come-from-behind 6-5 win over the Washington Nationals on Thursday at Turner Field.
McCann extended his hitting streak to 12 games by driving in Martin Prado, who walked to start the inning off against reliever Doug Slaten (0-1). The run made a winner out of reliever Craig Kimbrel (1-1), who struck out the side in the top of the frame.
Prado tied the game at 5-5 with a grand slam in the seventh inning.
The Nationals led 5-1 after the sixth inning. Danny Espinosa hit a two-run shot to dead center field in the second inning and Ivan Rodriguez added a solo homer in the sixth. The runs supported a second consecutive strong outing by Jordan Zimmermann, who allowed three runs in 6 1/3 innings and struck out 11.
Chipper Jones belted a solo homer in the third inning.
The comeback got Derek Lowe off the hook; he was tagged for five runs in six innings.
