Marlins 11, Nationals 2
Greg Dobbs homered and drove in a career-high five RBIs and Logan Morrison also went deep for the third straight game as the Florida Marlins cruised to an 11-2 road victory over the Washington Nationals on Tuesday.
John Buck homered, Omar Infante had a two-run single and Emilio Bonifacio doubled to extend his hitting streak to 24 games as Florida won its third in a row.
Ricky Nolasco (7-7) improved to 9-3 in his career against the Nationals after allowing two runs on three hits in 5 2/3 innings.
With the Marlins nursing a 2-0 lead in the third inning, Morrison doubled the advantage after depositing an offering from Jordan Zimmermann (6-9) into the right field seats for a two-run homer. Morrison now has a major-league best 25 RBIs in July.
Dobbs followed with his fourth homer of the season in the fifth inning and an RBI single in the seventh. Dobbs added a two-run single to highlight a five-run ninth inning.
Laynce Nix belted a solo homer and Michael Morse had an RBI double for Washington, which fell for the 10th time in 14 games.
