Marlins 7, Nationals 5

Mike Cameron homered twice and drove in three runs and Javier Vazquez tossed seven solid innings as the Florida Marlins held on for a 7-5 road victory over the Washington Nationals on Wednesday.

Emilio Bonifacio singled in the eighth inning to extend his hitting streak to 25 games, matching Kevin Millar's effort in 2002 for second-best in franchise history. Luis Castillo holds the club record with a 35-game hitting streak in 2002.

Mike Stanton launched his career-best 23rd homer of the season and John Buck added a two-run single as Florida recorded its fourth win in a row.

Vazquez (7-9) secured his third win in four decisions after allowing one run on six hits.

Livan Hernandez (5-10) fell to 0-3 against the Marlins this year after permitting four runs on five hits in four innings.

Laynce Nix homered for the second straight game, Michael Morse had a two-run single and Ryan Zimmerman added an RBI double for Washington, which fell for the 11th time in 15 contests.
