Nationals 7, Phillies 5

Wilson Ramos homered and drove in a career-high four runs and rookie Danny Espinosa went deep for the second straight game to lift the Washington Nationals to their seventh straight road victory with a 7-5 triumph over the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday.

After Ramos homered for the second time in three contests, Espinosa extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a two-run shot in the sixth inning.

Espinosa now has 15 hits during that stretch for Washington, which has won 10 of its last 13 games. The Nationals have won nine of the 17 meetings this season against the National League East champion Phillies.

John Lannan (10-13) recorded just his second win in 14 career decisions against Philadelphia after allowing three runs on eight hits in five innings.

Making his last start before heading to the bullpen, rookie Vance Worley (11-3) permitted four runs on six hits in as many innings. Worley will serve as a reliever with Roy Oswalt officially being named the team's fourth starter for the postseason.

John Mayberry Jr. had three hits - including a two-run homer - and scored twice for Philadelphia, which has lost a season-high five games after clinching its fifth NL East title on Saturday.
