Clayton Kershaw tossed his fifth complete game of the season and James Loney belted a two-run homer as the Los Angeles Dodgers recorded a 4-1 victory over the visiting San Diego Padres on Monday.
Andre Ethier went 3-for-4 with an RBI for Los Angeles, which has won six of its last seven games.
Kershaw (17-5) allowed one run and six hits en route to his fourth straight win and ninth in 10 starts. The lefthander, who has won nine in a row at home, tied Arizona's Ian Kennedy for the National League lead in victories.
After Ethier gave the Dodgers a 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the first, Loney swatted his ninth homer of the season off Mat Latos (6-13) in the third. Rod Barajas capped the scoring an inning later with a sacrifice fly.
Nick Hundley had two hits and an RBI for San Diego, which has lost five in a row. The Padres have scored a total of four runs during their skid.
