Giants 5, Diamondbacks 2

Bill Hall snapped a tie with an RBI single in the sixth inning and Madison Bumgarner tossed six effective innings as the San Francisco Giants posted a 5-2 road victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

Aubrey Huff had two hits and an RBI, while Pat Burrell and Eli Whiteside each hit an RBI triple for the Giants, who have won 10 of their last 14 games overall and seven of eight meetings with Arizona this season.

Hall, who was playing his second game with San Francisco since being signed on Saturday, dropped a single into center field off Joe Saunders (3-7) with one out to score Huff and give the Giants a 3-2 edge.

The lead was preserved in the eighth as Arizona's Kelly Johnson was thrown out at the plate as he attempted to score from first on Chris Young's double.

Whiteside added insurance in the ninth by plating Hall with a triple and scoring on a wild pitch. Brian Wilson worked a scoreless bottom half for his 20th save in 22 opportunities.

Bumgarner (3-8) allowed fewer than three runs for the fourth consecutive start, but is only 2-2 in that span. All three of the lefthander's victories this year have come on the road.

Willie Bloomquist and Young hit solo homers for the Diamondbacks, who fell to 2-13 in their last 15 games against the Giants.
