Mets 3, Marlins 2
Kirk Nieuwenhuis ripped a bases-loaded, two-out hit off the right-field fence as the host Mets scored two in the ninth to sweep the Marlins.
Miami closer Heath Bell (0-3) walked four straight batters to tie the game, then retired Scott Hairston on a forceout before Nieuwenhuis' heroics. It was Bell's third blown save in five chances.
Miami, which lost its fifth straight, wasted Gaby Sanchez's first homer of the season and a strong seven-inning outing by Ricky Nolasco. He allowed one run and five hits while striking out five. Randy Choate fanned two in a hitless eighth to preserve Miami's 2-1 lead, but Bell could not close the door.
Mets starter Jonathon Niese delivered his fourth straight quality start, allowing two runs and four hits over seven innings.
