Diamondbacks 8, Dodgers 6 (12)
Martin Prado highlighted a four-run 12th inning with a tiebreaking RBI double as visiting Arizona won the rubber match of the three-game series.
Miguel Montero and Cody Ross had four hits apiece as part of the Diamondbacks’ season-high 20-hit attack, and Josh Collmenter (3-0) worked two scoreless innings for the win. Ross led off the 12th inning with a double off Ronald Belisario (3-5) and snapped a 4-4 tie when he scored from third on Prado’s ground-rule double.
Arizona added three runs before Ramon Hernandez hit a leadoff homer off Heath Bell in the bottom of the inning. Bell induced a game-ending grounder by pinch-hitter Tim Federowicz with two runners on after the Dodgers had cut the deficit to 8-6 on Mark Ellis’ RBI groundout.
The Diamondbacks took a 3-0 lead in the fourth as Prado and Didi Gregorius hit back-to-back RBI singles before the former scored on Cliff Pennington’s double-play grounder. The Dodgers answered with four runs in the fifth, a rally that was sparked by Hyun-Jin Ryu’s liner that slipped past a diving Gerardo Parra in right field for a run-scoring triple.
Arizona starter Patrick Corbin failed in his bid to become the majors’ first 10-game winner, allowing four runs over five innings. Ryu gave up three runs on 11 hits over six frames and induced four double-play grounders, tying a club record.
