Dodgers 7, Diamondbacks 5 (14)

Hanley Ramirez and A.J. Ellis belted back-to-back homers to lead off the 14th inning as visiting Los Angeles completed a three-game sweep of Arizona.

After his career-high 19-game hitting streak came to an end on Tuesday, Ramirez rebounded with a two-run double in the fifth before his heroics in the 14th inning. Ramirez deposited a first-pitch cutter from reliever Josh Collmenter (4-2) over the wall in right field for his eighth homer. Ellis, who forged a 5-5 tie in the ninth with an RBI single, promptly launched a changeup into the seats in left to give the Dodgers a 7-5 lead.

The blasts made a winner of Kenley Jansen (3-3), who struck out three in two innings of relief. Adrian Gonzalez belted his 14th homer as Los Angeles (45-45) improved to 15-3 in its last 18 games and reached the .500 mark for the first time since April 30. The Dodgers have shaved eight games off the pace in the National League West and trail the first-place Diamondbacks by just 1 1/2 games.

Aaron Hill homered and had two RBIs while Paul Goldschmidt added a two-run double in the fifth inning. Martin Prado had an RBI single for the Diamondbacks.

Collmenter suffered the loss despite working long relief. He entered the 14th having allowed just one hit in four innings before Ramirez and Ellis took him deep.
