Orioles 4, Athletics 2
The Baltimore Orioles jumped on Gio Gonzalez early, sending the Oakland A's to a season-worst seventh consecutive loss with a 4-2 win Monday at Camden Yards.
It's just Baltimore's fifth win in the past 25 meetings with Oakland and its third win in its past 10 games overall.
Gonzalez (5-4) spotted the Orioles a 4-0 lead in losing his second straight start. Vladimir Guerrero's RBI single started the scoring in the first, and Matt Wieters, Nolan Reimold and Nick Markakis each drove in runs in the second.
Gonzalez lasted seven innings, yielding four runs and nine hits.
Making his second start of the season, Orioles lefthander Brian Matusz (1-0) pitched into the sixth, allowing two runs on seven hits. Three Orioles pitchers combined for 3 2/3 perfect innings of relief with Kevin Gregg striking out two in the ninth for his 11th save.
Oakland's Adam Rosales was activated from the disabled list and hit a two-run home run in his first game of the season after missing all of spring training with a broken foot.
