Orioles 4, Athletics 0
The Baltimore Orioles hit three home runs in support of Chris Jakubauskas, who threw five scoreless innings in his first major league start in more than a year to help Baltimore to a 4-0 win Tuesday at Camden Yards.
Oakland has lost eight straight games, all against AL East opponents.
Jakubauskas (1-0) hadn't started in the majors since taking a Lance Berkman line drive off the side of his head April 24, 2010. He missed the rest of the season with a concussion, but was effective Tuesday.
J.J. Hardy, Luke Scott and Adam Jones hit solo home runs, matching a season-high for the Orioles. They also hit three in a 5-3 loss to Minnesota on April 18.
The Orioles have won eight of 10 at home. Baltimore entered the series having lost 20 of 24 against the A's, but they've won the first two games of the series.
