Nationals 5, Braves 3
Livan Hernandez allowed one run in six innings and drove in a run, and Rick Ankiel hit a pair of solo homers to lead the host Washington Nationals to a 5-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Monday night.
Hernandez (6-10), who scattered six hits, broke a two-game losing streak and won for the first time since June 26. His RBI single in the second put the Nationals ahead to stay.
Closer Drew Storen allowed a home run to Dan Uggla in the ninth before earning his 27th save. Uggla homered twice and extended his hitting streak to 23 games.
Herandez outpitched Jair Jurrjens (12-4), who had trouble with location and gave up five runs in five innings. Jurrjens has allowed 11 runs in 10 innings in his last two starts against the Nationals.
