Hiroki Kuroda threw seven scoreless innings to win for the first time in six starts and the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the host San Diego Padres 1-0 on Tuesday.
Kuroda (7-13) allowed four hits and struck out eight. Javy Guerra worked a scoreless ninth for his ninth save.
Matt Kemp tallied his National League-leading 84th RBI with a single in the fourth off Mat Latos (5-11), who allowed six hits and struck out six over seven innings.
Los Angeles is 8-3 against the Padres this season, including five consecutive wins. The Dodgers recorded their 13th shutout and improved to 16-12 in one-run games.
Blake Tekotte had three hits and two stolen bases for the Padres, who were shut out for the 16th time.
