Diamondbacks 6, Giants 1

Paul Goldschmidt and Justin Upton hit two-run homers as the Arizona Diamondbacks moved into a tie for first place in the National League West with a 6-1 victory over the host San Francisco Giants on Tuesday.

Daniel Hudson (11-7) gave up one run and six hits in eight innings in outdueling Tim Lincecum (9-9) as the Diamondbacks won their fourth straight game. The Giants have lost five straight.

Ryan Roberts led off the Arizona fifth with a single before Goldschmidt, playing in his second major-league game, homered to left field off Lincecum to give Arizona a 2-1 lead. Upton hit a two-run homer off reliever Ramon Ramirez in the eighth.

Hudson struck out five and walked one for his first victory since July 17.

Lincecum gave up two runs and three hits in seven innings. He struck out eight and walked three.

Arizona scored twice in the ninth on Roberts’ run-scoring double and Gerardo Parra’s single.

Pablo Sandoval had three hits, including a run-scoring double in the fourth for San Francisco.
