Dodgers 6, Rockies 2

Casey Blake snapped an eighth-inning tie with a grand slam and the Los Angeles Dodgers went on to post their fourth straight win, a 6-2 triumph over the Colorado Rockies Friday.

Andre Ethier doubled twice and drove in a run for the Dodgers, who have won four of their last five meetings with the Rockies.

Colorado grabbed a 1-0 lead with two outs in the second inning on Todd Helton's solo home run off Clayton Kershaw.

The Rockies clung to their slim advantage until the eighth, when ace Ubaldo Jimenez (17-5) ran out of gas. Scott Podsednik led off the inning with a single and stole second before Ryan Theriot walked. Ethier followed with a double to right-center, plating Podsednik with the tying run and chasing Jimenez.

Matt Belisle came on and retired Matt Kemp before intentionally walking James Loney to load the bases. Blake then belted a 3-2 offering into the seats in left-center for his 14th homer of the year and a 5-1 bulge.

Jonathan Broxton (5-4) picked up the win in relief of Kershaw, who allowed one run and five hits in six innings. Hong-Chih Kuo recorded the final four outs for his sixth save in seven opportunities.

Jimenez remained stuck on 17 wins after surrendering three runs and nine hits in seven-plus frames. The right-hander, who is 0-3 in his last four starts despite yielding three earned runs or less each time, walked three and struck out four in falling to 8-1 in 12 outings at home this year.
