Brewers 4, Cardinals 0

Yovani Gallardo took a no-hitter into the eighth inning and Casey McGehee went 3-for-4 with an RBI double as the Milwaukee Brewers snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 4-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday at Busch Stadium.

Gallardo's gem came a day after Cardinals lefthander Jaime Garcia took a perfect game into the eighth inning in a two-hit shutout against the Brewers.

Gallardo (3-2) allowed one hit and four walks while striking out six through eight innings. John Axford pitched a perfect ninth to finish off the one-hit shutout.

Cardinals rookie Daniel Descalso broke up the no-hitter with a single up the middle to lead off the eighth.

McGehee's RBI double in the third gave the Brewers the lead, and they tacked on three more in the ninth on Carlos Gomez's two-run triple and Yuniesky Betancourt's sacrifice fly.

Cardinals starter Kyle Lohse (4-2) gave up one run on six hits through eight innings. He struck out three and walked two.

Major league batting leader Matt Holliday went 0-for-4 to lower his average to .394.
