Giants 5, Dodgers 3

Brandon Belt homered and had three RBIs after being recalled from the minors earlier in the day to lead the host San Francisco Giants to a 5-3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night.

Belt lined the go-ahead, two-run double to left field in the seventh inning off lefthander Hong-Chih Kuo (0-1) to break a 3-3 tie as the Giants defeated the Dodgers for the sixth consecutive time.

Belt hit a solo homer in the second in his first major-league at-bat since May 31. He was recalled when Miguel Tejada was placed on the disabled list.

Madison Bumgarner (5-9) allowed three runs and four hits in eight innings. He struck out seven and walked none as the Giants won for the ninth time in 11 games.

Brian Wilson pitched the ninth for his 29th save.

Los Angeles, which has lost four consecutive games, took a 3-2 lead in the third when Tony Gwynn Jr. doubled in one run and Rafael Furcal delivered a two-run single.

The Giants tied the contest in the fifth on Pablo Sandoval’s RBI single.
