Dodgers 8, Giants 2
Matt Kemp added to his MVP credentials with a homer and three doubles as the Los Angeles Dodgers all but extinguished San Francisco's postseason hopes with an 8-2 victory over the visiting Giants on Thursday.
The Giants are four games back in the wild-card race and six behind the Diamondbacks in the division with six games remaining. San Francisco visits Arizona for a three-game series this weekend.
Hiroki Kuroda (13-16) gave up two runs with no walks over seven innings and pitched into the eighth inning for just the third time this season to earn the win.
Carlos Beltran and Pablo Sandoval blasted solo home runs for the Giants, who trailed 6-1 after five innings.
Madison Bumgarner (12-13) gave up four runs over four innings and failed to win his sixth consecutive start. He had allowed just four earned runs over 34 2/3 innings during his five-start winning streak.
Juan Rivera homered and drove in three runs while hitting behind Kemp, who batted .359 (23-for-64) with four homers and 11 RBIs in 18 games against the Giants this season.
