Three relievers combined to preserve the shutout as Heath Bell working the ninth for his 38th save.
San Diego got all its offense in the first when Jesus Guzman singled in a run and scored when Arizona left fielder Gerardo Parra committed an error on Nick Hundley's double.
Arizona starter Wade Miley (3-2) allowed two runs and five hits in six innings.
