Giants 8, Rockies 1

Tim Lincecum took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and Pat Burrell hit a three-run homer as the visiting San Francisco Giants cruised past the Colorado Rockies 8-1 on Monday.

Nate Schierholtz homered among three hits and Freddy Sanchez added a solo blast for the Giants, who have won five of six.

Colorado did not get a ball into the outfield against Lincecum until Jonathan Herrera flew out to right for the first out of the seventh. Carlos Gonzalez followed with a hard single through the right side.

Todd Helton came up after Troy Tulowitzki struck out and ended the shutout bid with an RBI double down the line in right to plate Gonzalez.

Lincecum (2-1) lasted 7 2/3 innings, surrendered one run, three hits, three walks and struck out 10.

Esmil Rogers (2-1) did not have it for Colorado, allowing five runs in the first inning on an RBI single by Aubrey Huff, and Burrell and Schierholtz' homers. The Giants would add one in the second on Sanchez’s blast, and two more in the third to end Rogers’ night.
