Rockies 7, Giants 4

Carlos Gonzalez hit a three-run homer and Troy Tulowitzki drove in a pair as the Colorado Rockies beat Tim Lincecum and the visiting San Francisco Giants, 7-4, on Monday.

Seth Smith added a solo homer and Clayton Mortensen (1-0) stuck around long enough to earn his first win for the Rockies, who won for just the fourth time in 14 games this month.

Lincecum (3-4) struggled with his command, issuing six walks while striking out just three. After San Francisco had taken the lead with three runs in the top of the sixth, Colorado broke through against the righthander with five runs in the bottom of the frame.

Smith led off with a solo blast and Lincecum allowed the next two batters to reach on a single and his own throwing error before Dexter Fowler tied it at 4-4 with a one-out single. Jonathan Herrera singled in front of Gonzalez, who drove a 2-2 pitch over the wall in center for his fifth homer.

Lincecum, who had not allowed a run in 17 innings entering Monday, was charged with seven runs - three earned - and nine hits in 5 2/3 innings.

Huston Street worked the ninth for his 13th save.
