Giants 7, Rockies 0
Madison Bumgarner combined with two relievers on a three-hit shutout while Brandon Belt and Conor Gillaspie hit two-run homers as the San Francisco Giants extended their home winning streak to six games Tuesday with a 7-0 victory over the Colorado Rockies.
Brandon Crawford added an RBI triple for San Francisco, which has won seven straight meetings with Colorado. The Giants have posted a franchise-high 13 wins over the Rockies this season.
Bumgarner (13-13) limited Colorado to two hits and struck out nine over seven innings en route to his sixth win in seven starts. The 22-year-old lefthander tossed 204 2/3 innings this year, becoming the fourth San Francisco Giants pitcher under the age of 23 to reach 200 in a season.
Bumgarner got into a jam in the second inning as Kevin Kouzmanoff hit a leadoff double and Jordan Pacheco followed with a single to put runners on the corners. But Bumgarner struck out the next three batters to escape unscathed.
Belt, who finished with three hits, gave the Giants a 3-0 lead in the fourth with his ninth blast of the year. Gillaspie made his first career homer a memorable one as he hit an inside-the-parker in the seventh to make it 7-0.
San Francisco got on the board in the first inning without recording a hit. Andres Torres drew a leadoff walk from Alex White (2-3), who uncorked two of his three wild pitches on the night before Mike Fontenot lifted a sacrifice fly.
