Justin Upton’s bases-clearing double capped a five-run sixth inning and helped the Arizona Diamondbacks rally for a 6-4 victory over the host Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday night.
Upton, whose hit gave the Diamondbacks a 6-4 lead, went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and extended his hitting streak to 11 games. He has an extra-base hit in 10 straight games and 17 RBIs in his last seven games.
Micah Owings (5-0) earned the win despite giving up four runs on six hits over five innings. Arizona moved within three games of National League West-leading San Francisco.
J.J. Putz worked a scoreless ninth inning for his 23rd save as Arizona improved to 53-0 when leading after eight innings.
Dodgers starter Chad Billingsley (9-9) lost for the first time in his last four home starts after allowing six runs on seven hits over 5 2/3 innings.
Matt Kemp hit his 26th home run and second in as many games. His two RBIs gave him a National League-best 82, one ahead of the Phillies’ Ryan Howard.
