Diamondbacks 6, Dodgers 3
Gerardo Parra hit a pair of home runs and Joe Saunders pitched 7 2/3 solid innings as the Arizona Diamondbacks picked up a 6-3 road win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday afternoon.
Ryan Roberts and Parra hit back-to-back solo homers off Rubby De La Rosa (4-5) in the second inning to give the Diamondbacks a 2-0 lead. Parra later capped the scoring for the Diamondbacks with a two-run shot in the eighth.
Saunders (8-8), who has allowed just five runs in his last 23 2/3 innings, scattered eight hits without a walk, giving up two runs and allowing only two runners past second base.
The Dodgers scored single runs in the eighth and ninth innings on RBI singles by Juan Rivera and Tony Gwynn Jr., and brought the tying run to the plate in the final inning but could not complete the comeback.
De La Rosa lasted just four innings and threw 103 pitches. He yielded three runs on five hits while walking four and striking out six.
Andre Ethier had four of the Dodgers' eight hits against Saunders while Dioner Navarro hit a solo home run in the fourth inning.
