Dodgers 3, Diamondbacks 2

Clayton Kershaw was ejected in the sixth inning after hitting Gerardo Parra, but won his 19th game as the Los Angeles Dodgers held on to beat the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks 3-2 on Wednesday.

Kershaw (19-5), who tied Arizona's Ian Kennedy for the National League lead in wins, gave up one hit and struck out five over five innings to become the first Dodger with 19 victories since Ramon Martinez won 20 in 1990.

Parra drew the Dodgers’ ire Tuesday when he admired his long home run off Hong-Chih Kuo, who nearly hit him earlier in the at-bat. Dodger manager Don Mattingly was ejected along with Kershaw, who hit Parra on the elbow and argued the pitch was merely inside.

Kenley Jansen allowed a run in the ninth before recording his fourth save.

Arizona, which lost for the fourth time in its last 22 games, remained even with Milwaukee in the race for home-field advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

Daniel Hudson (16-10) gave up two runs over seven innings and rookie first baseman Paul Goldschmidt went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts for Arizona.

Matt Kemp scored two runs and stole his 39th base for the Dodgers, who snapped a three-game losing streak.
