White Sox 8, Twins 6

Alejandro De Aza homered and had four RBIs as the Chicago White Sox stretched their winning streak to five games with an 8-6 victory over the visiting Minnesota Twins on Tuesday.

The White Sox rallied from a three-run deficit by scoring five runs in the fifth inning to remain five games behind Detroit in the American League Central.

Chicago sent 10 men to the plate in the decisive fifth. Paul Konerko doubled home a run against Anthony Swarzak (3-5) and two more scored when Michael Cuddyer made an errant throw home after fielding De Aza’s grounder with the bases loaded. The go-ahead run scored when Gordon Beckham was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Juan Pierre’s single to left plated the final run.

Jason Kubel hit a three-run homer in the fourth to give Minnesota a 3-0 lead. Chicago tied the score in the bottom half on De Aza’s three-run homer.

Minnesota’s Joe Mauer returned from a six-game absence because of neck pain and hit a two-run double in the fifth. Cuddyer followed with a run-scoring single.

Will Ohman (1-3) got the final out of the fifth for Chicago. Sergio Santos pitched the ninth for his 28th save.

Swarzak allowed eight runs (six earned) and six hits in 4 1/3 innings. Chicago's Zach Stewart gave up six runs and seven hits in 4 2/3 innings.
