Blue Jays 8, Orioles 4

J.P. Arencibia hit his first career grand slam and Rajai Davis doubled twice among three hits as the Toronto Blue Jays trounced the host Baltimore Orioles, 8-4, on Friday.

Yunel Escobar drove in a run and scored two for the Blue Jays, who snapped a two-game slide and moved back above .500 at 29-28.

J.J. Hardy homered for the Orioles, who are the lone American League East team with a losing record at 25-30.

Baltimore rookie Zach Britton (5-4) had his second straight rough start, getting knocked around for seven runs - five earned - in five innings. The 23-year-old has allowed 11 earned runs in his last two outings to watch his ERA balloon nearly a run from 2.35 to 3.33.

Toronto piled on early, pushing two runs across in the second and another in the third before Arencibia broke it open in the fifth with his ninth homer of the season. Britton delivered a sinker below the knees that Arencibia went down and clobbered, sending a line drive over the left field wall.

Swingman Carlos Villanueva (3-0) picked up the win for the Blue Jays with 5 1/3 solid innings.
