Mark Reynolds hit his first career grand slam as the Baltimore Orioles rallied for a 5-3 win over the visiting Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday.
Jake Arrieta (7-3) moved into a tie for the American League lead in wins, giving up three runs on five hits over six innings for the Orioles
With Baltimore trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the sixth, Reynolds cleared the bases with his eighth home run. Before the grand slam, he was 6-for-52 (.115) with 26 strikeouts lifetime with the bases loaded.
Kevin Gregg worked around two singles in the ninth inning for his 10th save as the Orioles won for just the fourth time in the last 20 meetings with the Blue Jays.
Toronto's Ricky Romero (5-5), who was 3-0 with a 1.21 ERA in his last four starts, allowed five runs on 11 hits in 7 2/3 innings.
With Corey Patterson’s first-inning solo home run, the Orioles have been outscored 27-9 in the first inning this season.
