Blue Jays 7, Orioles 2
Ricky Romero allowed only one run over eight innings to win his third straight game as Toronto beat Baltimore 7-2 Sunday at Camden Yards.
Romero (10-9), coming off a one-hitter against Tampa Bay, allowed only four hits and struck out five. He’s now allowed only three runs in his last 24 1/3 innings.
Both of Baltimore’s runs came via a pair of solo home runs by Mark Reynolds, his 25th and 26th. His second home run of the afternoon traveled an estimated 450 feet, making it the sixth-longest homer ever hit at Camden Yards.
Casey Janssen pitched a scoreless ninth inning in a non-save situation.
Baltimore starter Alfredo Simon (3-5) pitched 5 2/3 innings and was touched for 10 hits - one a long homer by rookie Brett Lawrie, the first of his career.
Simon allowed six runs, four earned, and struck out three.
Jose Bautista, John McDonald and J.P. Arencibia each drove in two runs for the Jays.
