Angels 15, Rangers 4

Mark Trumbo homered and drove in four runs, leading the visiting Los Angeles Angels to a 15-4 rout of Texas on Tuesday night and moving the two teams back into a tie atop the American League West.

The game was tied at 1-1 when Trumbo clubbed a two-run homer to left off of Colby Lewis (1-2) in the fourth inning. After Maicer Izturis added a solo shot in the fifth, Trumbo sparked a four-run sixth with an RBI double.

The Angels (11-6) tacked on five more runs in the seventh inning, capped by a two-run homer by Peter Bourjos, who finished 4-for-5 with three runs and three RBIs. That was more than enough for Matt Palmer (1-0), who gave up just three hits and one run in six innings.

Texas (11-6), which got a solo homer from Yorvit Torrealba in the ninth inning, lost at home for the first time this season. Lewis lasted just five innings in defeat for the Rangers, surrendering four earned runs on five hits. Reliever Michael Kirkman gave up six runs in his 1 2/3 innings.
