Rangers 4, Angels 1
Alexi Ogando pitched 6 1/3 innings after missing a start because of a blister, and Elvis Andrus and Adrian Beltre belted solo homers as the host Texas Rangers defeated the Los Angeles Angels 4-1 on Friday night.
Ogando (4-0), making his first start in 10 days, allowed one run, five hits, walked one and struck out five. He has gone six-plus innings in all his starts.
Relievers Cody Eppley and Darren Oliver held the Angels until the ninth, when Neftali Feliz earned his seventh save.
The Rangers took a 1-0 lead in the first on Andrus’ homer.
After Erick Aybar tied it with a homer in the third, Michael Young’s RBI double in the fourth put Texas back in front. Andrus had an RBI single in the fifth and Beltre homered in the sixth.
Angels starter Jered Weaver (6-3) went six innings and allowed four runs, seven hits, walked one and struck out six.
