Rangers 4, Angels 3

Ian Kinsler’s two-out double in the eighth inning drove in two runs to give the Texas Rangers a 4-3 victory over the host Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday and a seven-game lead atop the American League West.

C.J. Wilson (12-5) gave up two runs - one earned - on five hits over seven innings for the Rangers, who will look for a sweep of the four-game series Thursday.

Neftali Feliz worked around Mark Trumbo's leadoff single in the ninth for his 24th save.

After Howie Kendrick and Mark Trumbo gave the Angels their first lead of the series with RBI singles in the first, the Angels were silenced until Kendrick homered off Koji Uehara in the eighth.

Santana (9-9), who recorded his 1,000th strikeout in the first, gave up four runs - three earned - on 10 hits over 7 2/3 innings as the Angels have lost five straight games and seven of their last eight.

After the Rangers loaded the bases with none out in the eighth, Santana struck out two batters before Kinsler’s flare into left field scored the winning runs.

Mitch Moreland hit his 14th home run for the Rangers, who have won 20 of their last 24 AL West games.
